Who this is for
Anyone who uses Claude for everyday work: meeting prep, writing follow-ups, deciding who to call this week. You set the connector up once on the web or in Claude Desktop, and it’s then available in your chats, including on your phone.
Before you start
- A Claude account. Custom connectors are available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans; the Free plan is limited to one custom connector.
- On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector for the organisation first (see below); members then connect their own Orvo account.
- An Orvo account with web access (the free trial works).

Add Orvo as a custom connector (Free, Pro and Max)
- On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector (on some accounts it sits behind a + Add button).
-
Enter
Orvoas the name and pastehttps://www.getorvo.com/api/mcpas the URL, then continue. - If Claude asks how to sign in, choose to sign in now. If it asks which OAuth client to use, Register automatically works with Orvo. If your dialog only shows a name, a URL and Advanced settings, leave the advanced settings empty.
- A window opens on Orvo. Sign in if asked, choose Read only (recommended) or Read and make changes, and click Authorise & Connect.
- In a chat, click the + button next to the message box, open Connectors and switch Orvo on. Then ask your question.
Team and Enterprise plans
-
An Owner opens Organization settings → Connectors, chooses Add, then Custom, then Web, and enters
Orvoandhttps://www.getorvo.com/api/mcpas above. - Each member then opens Customize → Connectors, finds Orvo (labelled Custom) and clicks Connect.
- Every member signs in with their own Orvo account and chooses their own access level, so nobody sees anyone else’s data.
On your phone
- Set the connector up on the web or in Claude Desktop first; that is the main way Anthropic documents for custom connectors.
- Open the Claude app on iOS or Android with the same account. Connectors you added appear there after you sign in, and you can switch Orvo on in a chat.
Read only, or read and make changes
Claude uses Orvo’s sign-in page, where you choose Read only (recommended) or Read and make changes each time you connect. To switch later, disconnect Orvo under Customize → Connectors and connect again.
Claude’s own Tool permissions add a second layer: even on a read-and-change connection you can block or require approval for individual tools.
Either way, deleting never erases anything: People and notes go to Recently deleted for 30 days, daily limits cap how much an assistant can change, and changes to a person (their profile, tags, notes and linked actions) show in their activity as made via AI assistant. How Orvo keeps you in control.
